In 2011 I had the opportunity to spend a week in Cienfuegos Cuba, near the city of Trinidad. As nice as the all-inclusive resorts and pristine white sandy beaches were, my favorite parts were actually going into Trinidad and interacting with the locals. It was like stepping back in time, with 1950s cars and horse and buggy transportation, the laid back lifestyle and lack of commercialism. It was a complete cultural departure from the lifestyle of Canada.
The unique culture and colorfully rustic architecture provided tons of great photo opportunities. The locals were also very open to being photographed, often in exchange for a peso or two.
These are a few of my favorite shots from the trip.
